Sixth Edition of Carnival of Educators, Carnival Love

Welcome to the December 1, 2009 edition of carnival of educators. This is the 6th edition, and I have to admit to still trying to be able to get the ball rolling. With that I think it is time to reset some rules. If you are going to submit an entry to the carnival, you also need to promote the carnival on your blog or all of our work is in vain. If you continue to submit posts, but never promote the carnival, you will not be included in future carnivals. On a more fun front... we are still looking for volunteers to host carnivals. To date, I only have two volunteers. So, Let's spread some carnival love.

~Parents are the first teachers and thanks to homeschooling, they can also be the main teacher.  For that reason, I would like to spread some parent love:

Rachel Lynette presents Get Your Students to Talk about School | Minds in Bloom posted at Minds in Bloom.

~Then there are teachers who bend over backwards for our kids simply trying to teach.  Too often then end up frustrated. Here's some love for the teachers.

Joanne Jacobs presents Teacher ed: Dump the American dream posted at Joanne Jacobs.

Siobhan Curious presents now you've made me mad posted at Siobhan Curious.

Batya presents I'm Out of The Classroom, Yes, Again posted at me-ander.

Mr Teacher presents What's in a name? posted at Mr Teacher.

~I believe that without creativity, we will never have students who can think outside of the box.  Here is some Creativity love:

Annette Berlin presents Educational Art Sites For Kids posted at Craft Stew, saying, "Reviews on three fun and educational websites for kids."

Gary Mullen presents Creative uses for Ostrich Feathers posted at Culture Blog

~For this homeschool educator, I am a technology-in-education maniac.  Here's some Technology love:

TIC presents Computer Literacy is Literacy posted at Technology In Class, saying, "Are computer classes mandatory at your school? Computer literacy is literacy, it should be required of all students to some degree."

Mathew Needleman presents The Case for Blogging in the Classroom posted at Creating Lifelong Learners

Mathew Needleman also presents K12 Online Conference: Steal This Preso! Trailer posted at Creating Lifelong Learners

~Who wouldn't love to get them in college.  Here is some College Love:

Allison Johanson presents How to: Find & Apply for Weird College Scholarships posted at How To E-D-U.

Thanks for continuing your work posting the carnivals. I didn't quite realize the importance publishing links back to the carnival on our own blogs (still kind of new and figuring things out) so thanks for your introductory blurb on that - much appreciated!
