When homeschooling is abused

Sometimes I wonder if there should not be more homeschooling controls. Put the noose away, I am not done. I just wish there was a way to diffrenticate real homeschoolers from those who segregate thier kids in the name of hate. This abuse of homeschooling not only abuses the child, and probably wrecks them for life, but also the institution of homeschooling as well. Worse than the freak homeschooling nightmares that the media is so quick to spotlight to make us all look insane, it the more subtle passing down on rasict views from parents to children. To separate children so that they are not allowed to form thier own views on people in general is wrong. For instance the Geade girls who are homeschooled by parents who chose the swastika as the symbol for thier cow brand. The children tour the country performing hate songs to all white crowds. Another example of this abuse is 7 year old Autumn Ashante who writes and speaks poems that incite racial riot, I believe is no more than a smoke...

Is homeschooling a good answer to a truancy problem?

And other questions: Q: my situatoin for a judge taking away my rights to homeschool my kid? Asked by djjjk2003 - This parent is in a situation where she wants to homeschool a child who is in trouble for truancy in school. The judge, however ruled that the child should go back to school. Should this parent homeschool the child? Perhaps not, and some people who answered her question were pretty blunt and downright rude in their expression of that point. Here is an excerpt of her question,, so you can see why people objected to her homeschooling: " my kid which is 14got a truencey ticket for not going to school so we had to go to court they suggested she should get an evaluatoin the guy asked her like 5 questoind ". Needless to say, her spelling and grammar (in the question anyway) was atrocious, but I like to give the benefit of the doubt as it could have been a symptom of her distress. Here is my response to her question: Her question may still be open on Yahoo Answers, so y...

Cheating or Learning, Computers In the Classroom

I watched an NBC newstory lastweek about computers in the classroom . I believe it was called, "cheating or learning". The students were using the computers to take exams . If they did not know an answer, they had to look it up online.... this equated to Online Learning . I thought the idea was cool. I think I'll use it in my homeschooling. Some parents however, were outraged. When I finished college some 15+ years ago, my boyfriend (now husband) said to me, 'now you have proven you can learn'. I didn't really appreiate the sentiment at the time, but years later I realized he was right. All I had really accomplished in college was to prove I was intelligent to learn... really learn something. I have continued to learn over the years. If I want to know something, I look it up... in the past 10 years or so, I have looked it up on my trusty computer. Why not teach the children these Homeschool Curriculum .

Homeschool Truth, Homeschool Myth, Homeschool fact

Reading yet another story about Home-schooling growing quickly in United States , I began thinking about the myths and truths about the homeschooling community, that people use to try to prove homeschooling is wrong. MYTH : Homeschoolers do not get "socialized" and therefore cannot cope in the real world. This could not be farther from the truth. First of all, the kind of socialism that the critics feel homeschoolers are missing (noun: the adoption of the behavior patterns of the surrounding culture ) is not healthy or desirable. Why would any parent want everything they have taught their 5 year old child to be challenged by a group of 5 year old children who may or may not have a similar moral compass. This is flawed thinking, although it is backed by some obvious successes. Yes, successes. Take a group of three children. Child 1 is taught by his or her parents the fundamental Christian beliefs of one man, one wife, Intelligent design of God, and to spread the Gospel of ...
