I asked myself that this morning, and found myself on an hour search for the answer... here's what I came up with:

In this letter George Bush supports homeschooling while at the same time, he continues to toy with the 'no child left behind act' which is pretty hopeless at this point.
It's basically a draw here. To me the pretty letter is just mouth service.
Meanwhile Kerry has a 100 day plan to change america which includes the following: http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/100days/communityservice_high.html this amounts to more restrictions on graduation and thus more control over education. This makes me very wary.
At the same time it has been quoted that " if the parents choose to keep their children from "formal" education, it is their right. that right should not be taken away." but no one can pinpoint the words actually coming from his mouth.
the only information I could find on this subject is here: http://forum.johnkerry.com/index.php?showtopic=28101&st=0
So in my opinion, we are probably screwed either way, but maybe less with GW Bush as he has at least payed lip service and left homeschoolers alone so far.

Yeah,,,I'd say that if Kerry gets in - You're screwed.
That's why I don't vote. It's not like the 'peoples' votes actually count, anyways.
I cheated on my 'quitting smoking'.
But, I feel better now.
I'm back to 2 days without the sweet 'bacco.
Interesting search! On the GWB/homeschooling subject, a friend recently loaned me Karen Hughes' book "Ten Minutes from Normal" -- Ms. Hughes is GW's top advisor, a Christian Mom, who moved her family from DC back to Texas, family, and roots, while continuing to do her job for the President through computers & cell phones. Her book includes details of the semester when her son accompanied her and Bush on the campaign trail -- homeschooling! Although their method was probably far from yours and mine, it was still described as HS'ing, and with GW's hearty approval! (I recommend the book for an insight into the deep Christian faith of President Bush. I personally enjoyed it very much.)
