Back to homeschool day
The public kids are back in school
My childrens rooms are cleaned and organized
All curricullum is purchased
and it's tiem for back to homeschool day!
MY KIDS ARE NOT HAPPY.
I had tried to homeschool thru the summer, but sometime in July, I lost control. Everyone else was having summer break and even though their curricullum was fun ( learning games) they'd had enough. So they I let them be lazy bones with thier only educational activity being music lessons and thier only phyisical activity being swimming.
I had to force them awake this morning, and right now, Jordan is practing piano and fussing. 1/2 hour is too long... my fingers are tired, I don't feel good... can I stop yet. ( only 10 minutes to go)... I am hoping that being well practiced will make her more prepared for Miss K. I have yet to make a final decision about the music teacher.
Jackson is taking a shower and straightening his room while he waits for his turn on the piano.
Here is our schedule today.
8-8:30 Jordan music
8:30-9:30 Jackson music
8:30-9:30 Jordan. Curriculum (childu.com) after trying everything else over the summer I went back to old faithful after drilling them about improvements and homeschool-friendly policies
9:30-10:30 Jackson curriculum
930-11:30 Jordan .critical thinking workbooks (reading and more math)
10:30-11:30 Jackson critical thinking workbooks
11:30 . Chiropractor
1:00-3:00 quiet reading
That will be our "normal" schedule keeping mind that we will see the chiropractor 2 times a week
and the arts program will be on mondays from noon till 4 or 5
and music will be on tuesdays at 1:30 for the time being.
I am also trying to keep wednesday -saturday clear from paid lessons etc so we can take impromptu discovery trips and vacations.
