What do you say to a homeschooler who isn't happy?

In answering homeschooling questions on Yahoo Answers (membername ahermitt) about homeschooling, I came upon a question from a young lady who had been homeschooled on and off for much of her life who asked why people homeschool thier kids when it was so awful. How do you tell your that it is really not without saying that her parents did an awful job!
