I hate to stumble upon homeschooling message boards. Not becauese they are homeschooling message boards, but because of the venom that is spouted by the opposition.
Here is what I found today
These guys didn't even try to put a lid on the potty, that is their mouths!
Talk about get a life... how does my homeschooling my child make you so angry that you have to curse like an old sailor?
Is your way of life feeling threatened?

I took the opportunity to look at the post you linked to ... and realized again how many people are in the dark concerning what homeschooling really is. Thanks for pointing this out.
People definitely need to wake up about the fact that homeschooling is a legitimate choice for schooling. In fact, if done right, it can be better. The key factor is that whatever schooling choice is made, it must be made according to each individual child and his/her individual needs, not the statistics of someone else's kids.
Wow, and that language they used on that message board. Crazy! There are better ways of getting your point across.
I find it amusing to me that the most anti-unschool comments are written by people who appear to have been poorly educated themselves... at least their communication skills are a bit... lacking.
Foul language = vulgar = common. I worry about the state of the public schools when people can't find decent adjectives to use in social discourse.
And I do love the attitude of the poster who says if they don't like school, you have to force them to do it anyway. Niiiice.
I'm fairly certain that the more vulgar (and less literate) responses were written by teenagers. And the one that was more reasonably written (though with regrettable use of ALL CAPS) was railing against unschooling, not homeschooling in general. And we all know fervent homeschoolers who can't stand unschooling, so.
I had to jump in on this one! They are not articulate and are very rude with their assumptions, maybe more homeschoolers can jump in on this too.
