Something to think about

As homeschoolers, many of us are working toward college; others already have kids in college. We really need to think about how we are going to start paying for college. Realizing that many homeschoolers get scholarships because our kids are so unique does not still mean we will not have to foot a bill of some amount.

We encourage activities that colleges might think are scholarship worthy, and we also own a couple of rental properties so that we can pull out equity or sell at the right time. As bad savers, we are being creative in our approach. For parents who already have college aged kids and are trying to make room for more, you may want to consider Student Loan Consolidation.

Student Loan Consolidation, according to Nextstudent.com, allows borrowers to combine one or more of their Federal education loans into a new loan that offers several advantages. If you are paying for several college tuitions, this might be to your advantage, once you have exhausted all creative methods and possible scholarships.
