My Inlaws are 1/5th of the way through a 2 week stay. Homeschooling becomes ever increasingly difficutlt each day.
I really should just stop altogether with lessons until they leave... but with the holidays coming and a business trip my husband and I have to take, we are looking at over a month off if I start now. The other reason I am hesitant to stop is because of appearances. I don't want them to think I am not teaching the kids... but all that is resulting is discipline problems. They want to be with grandma and grandpa, and any suggestion of "school work" is out of the question.
All I am getting is a headache.
While talking to a friend of mine yesterday, she metioned that I should tailor their lessons around the visit. She emailed me interview questions that the kids could ask thier grandparents . I printed the questions and adapted them for homeschooling and let them free to ask them questions. Next I will have them type it out into story form, and then we will work on grammar and punctuation.
Now I need to think of some way to integrate grandma and grandpa into math.
