Tips for the first six weeks of school

Ok, I had some fun this morning mocking the State of Illinois kindergarten guidelines, but these guidelines are the real thing.

Whether your kids are homeschooled or go to traditional schools, these tips for the first six weeks of school will help you determine if your child needs extra help to adjust, or if you are on the right track.

I found the general tips quite helpful too such as " instill excellence as your family standard, encourage a strong work ethic; and set high but realistic standards" and "make sure you understand your child's academic streamed and weaknesses".

I highly recommend you print this page and post it in a visible place. And if you live in the Rochester NY area go visit Cynthia Tucker, the author of this article at the Oxford Learning center in Fairport NY. She really knows her stuff.
