Cool Contest for homeschoolers with cameras

It is time for the PhotographyCorner.com 2006 Photograph of the Year contest. Anyone can enter, (that means homeschoolers too) and with over $14,000 in prizes available to win, it should be an easy opportunity for anyone who has a camera. While you are visiting photograpycorner.com, take the opportunity to learn more about photography using the sites forums and resources. The resource page, by the way, has tutorials that you can use to help you win the contest, so do not worry about your amateur status; just grab your camera give the competition a shot.

Homeschoolers can use this competition as a science nature journal or other project. You can take your camera out on strolls and take lots of pictures of nature, like a Lilly budding through the snow, or the rare squirrel scampering about this time of year. By focusing on nature, you will not only get to practice your photography skills, but also fill up your nature journal thereby learning a skill and some interesting nature facts in one shot.

Another idea for winning this contest is to try your hand at family pictures. Become paparazzi for a week and catch your family in funny poses and situations... but do not get carried away. Respect their privacy too!
The contest is sponsored by http://www.imagealign.com/ among others like http://www.istockphoto.com and www.BibbleLabs.com.
