homeschooling is not too expensive

I first heard this "excuse" to not homeschool a couple months ago. Now this newfound reason to not homeschool is becoming common place. Annoying.

  We published a book on African American history . So, I was pondering the disappearance of African American curriculum, thanks to anti-DEI and Woke politics. As a homeschooling parent and administrator, the censorship of curriculum really bothers me... so I thought, and I thought. Then I realized that everything you need to know about African American History is available... in stories, novels and plays. So the book I wrote is actually a literature guide to African American history. It lists, in order of historical periods, fiction and nonfiction books and plays that a person could read to get a full understanding of the history attached to it. Each piece of literature listed tells you the date, setting, synopsis, and essay prompts. On being black and homeschooling.

If you didn't know my race previously, you do now. I am black. (african american, brown, non-white... whatever) There has been a great stir in the news lately because the number of black homeschooling has suddenly increased. As a black person, homeschooling is not a decision to be made lightly. "for the black community, teaching at home was frowned on because of the civil rights battle to get into public schools in the first place. Mike Smith with the Home School Legal Defense Association says the times are changing." But just as those first pioneers forced thier way into public schools to get quality educations for thier children , many people like myself are now fleeing. Why so late in the game? We tried two more home meal plan kits... we have a winner! Dinnerly? Hugry Root?

If you read my previous post on home meal plans you learned a couple things: 1. I hate to cook. 2. I hate to cut vegetables You probably didn't know that I also hate to shop for food, which is why I kept ordering these meal plans...  And now that I have been trying them for a couple of months... I have a winner because taste is more important than convenience. Photo of Amazon.com meal plan So the Home Chef vs Hello Fresh contest went on for a minute, but the cost was a bit much. Since the portions are plentiful, I hacked Hello Fresh by getting the two meal plan for 4 people and adding an extra side dish of potatoes or salad.  Easy.  We really should talk about hacking these meal plans...
