All You Need to Know About Homeschooling....

Is on Associated Content.....??? I wrote this peice for Associated Content. Did I tell you that you can get paid for writing on AC ? Even Homeschooling articles. Anyway, here's my article, check it out.

Here is my tutorial on drawing a face... can you digg it? read more  |  digg story

Schools as terrorist targets

Moreso than kids not learning in school, moreso than kids being bullied, I worry about kids being in physical harm in school. I mean, if you really want to terrorize people, then go after thier kids. Around the time I pulled my kids out of school, a mentally disturbed man walked into a local school and hit a girl in the head with the claw of a hammer. He nearly killed her and caused permanent damage. I don't think I could ever, ever be comfortable if I knew my kids were there. read this story from today: Man opens fire a Colorado high school, says he has a bomb

If the teachers don't want to go to school,

why should the kids... I don't remember my teachers taking days off without coming back looking like they had beed dragged by a truck. If they were sick... they took sick day. My mother taught at a school for runaways and emotionally disturbed children, she took so few day off that when she got cancer, she was able to take off almost a years worth of sick days and personal time. That was then... this is now. Thank you, Joanne Jacobs for finding this story.

Please read and participate in the Carnival of homeschooling. There is so much good information there from other homeschoolers from the short and sweet to the epic and enlightening. READ IT!

Not trying to be preachy here, but...

after realizing how important it was to make demands of my homeschooled middle school child, I wrote this article giving my tips for educating a middle schooler

Homeschoolers and Former Teachers Unite

I use a former teacher to help me tutor my middle school child. It got me thinking. The thinking got me writing. Read this article I wrote.

. If you wanto know where the best deals are, then check this out: I just found this website called Coupon Riot . What I like about it is that all the shopping deals are right there, plainly for the world to see. You don't need to hunt and peck, and you don't have to search through the website unnessarily. "It;s a good thing ...Give it a try!"

Transitioning from public school to homeschool

I wrote this article after reading advice on making sure your homeschooled child is ready to go back into public school. I thought I could offer the opposing view. Happy reading!

Calgon, take me away!

I ran across this book named book called Simone and Elvis. Its is a self meditation, self help book. I don't know if it is the Best Self Help Book I have ever read, but it is pretty good. Check it out as homeschooling moms, we really need to relieve some stress! The site has a cool flash presentation you can view for free that relaxes you.

Hey Homeschooling moms, Need work from home advice?

Image
I talk about making money and homeschooling at the same time, alot. I am kind of obsessive about it with my husband being self employed not...SCARY. If you are in my shoes, you will want to take a look at Alice Seba's Internet Marketing Blog She gives advice from experience, not theory. She knows what she is talking about!

Book Review: Help! I'm married to a homeschooling mom

If you are a homeschooling mom, I recommend you buy this book for your husband. Tell him it is a satire to get him to read it... it does have some satire, but some very good advice in addtion. Read my full review here

My Homeschool home

Image
I have a room in the basement reserved for homeschooling. It is not as bad as it sounds. It has bookshelves, a table and a sink. We mostly use it for arts, crafts, and messy science experiments. Now if If someone else were footing the bill, my basement would be a homeschoolers dream. I would have an industrial loft theme comfy futon couches, and stainless steel tables. It would be very high tech with walls ize computer monitors, and the exercise room would have an arcade version of dance, dance revolution. Upstairs my two story dining room would be a library with mahogony paneling, shelves to the ceiling and one of those cool library ladders. Oh, and the kitchen... it would be self cleaning. Talk about home improvement !

Do Public Schools Really Hate Homeschoolers

HSLDA promotes articles such as this and says we need to keep thier legal representation in case the big bad school unions come to get us. I am very aware of problems that some homeschoolers have had in the law in the past, and present, and that there is always the possibility that it would happen in the future, but I have to say that I have never met a teacher, prinicpale or other school administrator who felt that strongly against the way I have chosen to educate my kids. I have even been asked by school administrators to homeschool thier kids... (which I declined) I think the real enemy of homeschoolers is parents to don't or can't homeschool for any reason, and therefor villify homeschooling in an attempt to legitimize what they are doing and the only right way to go. While I believe my membership with the homeschool legal defense association is valuable for many reasons, I am really tired of the terror tactics they use to get homeschoolers to sign up.

Compiling a list of educational websites

Image
You may or may not know that I have been compiling a list of educational websites. The link is at the top of this page. There are hundreds and thousands of links available for a homeschooler to use.... I have maybe 60 organized and catagorized so far. I have alot of work to do. It just dawned on me that I may never be done with this project considering that all homeschooling sites does not have to be geared toward kids, education, or homeschooling such as the Everyday Health site which has lots of health topics, content, tools, and newsletters. It was created to support people with over different conditions with useful Health Information as well as support groups. But reading and exploring this website will teach homeschooled kids alot.

Figuring it out yourself

One of the hardest things about homeschooling is the fact that we have to figure so much out by ourselves. I bought a new program for my son lst week, and I had to fight my way though installation, and the proper way to use it. I still don't have it all figured out yet. It's a good thing my daughter will use time4learning for a bit longer as it is intuitively laid out as well as having a great parents forum for when you get stuck.

Homeschooling through college

At the end of every school year relatives ask me if I am done homeschooling yet. I tell them no. I will be done when the kids are done with high school. Homeschooling through highschool is a given for us. But what about hard classes, they ask? At this time I tend to use the trump card I save just for moments like this... My IQ score. It is quite high. This tool that I use to shut up my relatives, however, is an unfair tool. Using it imples that poeple who don't have high IQ's can't homeschool through high school. That cold not be further from the truth. Even I have no intention of teaching trigonometry, caluclus, and a chemistry. Heck, those where hard classes for me! But with homeschooling being so popular, there are numerous resources for teaching these classes. One of them is taking college courses online, or in person. At higher levels college courses can count for both highschool and college. This of course makes me wonder if I want my kids homeschooling t...

This week's field trip

Image
We just got home from the county fair. Last week since I dragged the children to the local war museum, they insisted that this week, we have some fun, so I let them choose. We spent the afternoon there. The grass made me sneeze, the animals made me hold my breath, the bugs made me wave my hands about nervously, and the sky made me worry about the impending rain. We were tortured and teased by clouds all day, and we never knew when it might fall. The weather held up though, but it got pretty warm by the end of the evneing of walking on the dusty fair grounds and wandering through the un-air conditioned exhibit hall and looking at the farm animals and prize vegetables. The hardest part for me was watching the kids get on what I was convinced were unsafe rides. They just looked old... Not to mention how high they were off the ground. It made me wish I had picked up those wholesale binoculars I had seen on the internet to see the kids expressions. One one ride, I could manage to see a ver...

Curriculum Change update

Not gonna happen... for my daughter anyway. The curriculum we were testing is great for review and practice. Not as a main curriculum. My son will stop using time4learning as his tutor can cover the rest, but my daughter will continue using http://www.time4learning.com .

What do you say to a homeschooler who isn't happy?

In answering homeschooling questions on Yahoo Answers (membername ahermitt) about homeschooling, I came upon a question from a young lady who had been homeschooled on and off for much of her life who asked why people homeschool thier kids when it was so awful. How do you tell your that it is really not without saying that her parents did an awful job!

My mini environmentalist

Image
My daughter is a card carrying tree hugger, at the tender age of 10, she loses it whenever she sees a small forest go done for a new subbidivision. If she sees anyone litter, she comments... to them. If she sees anyone mistreat a plant or animal.. watch out. If I could only get her to eat vegetables, she would be a vegetarian. Because of her interests, she already knows everthing there is to know about renewable energy and recycling. I could say I taught her, but she self educated in that area. Because she loves to shop, expecially from places that are environmentally responsible, she will be glad to hear this news from Wal-Mart: Wal-Mart has committed “to be supplied 100 percent by renewable energy; to create zero waste; and to sell products that sustain our resources and our environment.” AmeriPak is hosting an online seminar at http://www.teamameripak.com/seminar/online-seminar.php on the future of PVC Retail Packaging. My daughter just did a cartwheel

No it is not her first cartwheel, after all she is 10 years old. So what makes this cartwheel so special? The fact that she could do it. She stopped typing (she was learnig to type using a CDROM) stood up and stretched, did a cartwheel and sat back down. My husband remarked: she must have some excess energy. I remarked she never would have gotten away with that at school. He answered, she could have done it, but we would have gotten a call. Everyone went back to what they were doing, I came here to write this blog. Now I will return to the article I am writing for Associated Content.

Bribery and education

My step brother and I tried real hard in school, and our reward was a pat on the head... sometimes. That and the feeling that we had accomplished something. Our younger brothers were less motivated, so our parents bribed them with money. We were disgusted, our brothers still only did the minimum required to get paid. Phoenix High School students have a powerful new incentive to attend class — the chance to win a car. Students who show up 95 percent of the time while maintaining a B average will be eligible to win a used car donated by Lithia Motors. "It's a fun opportunity to highlight that we value attendance," Principal Jani Hale said. While I think there are worse offenses, I hardly see this as creating a thirst for learning. They may have a 'ride' today, but unless they learn to love learning, they will surely be riding the bus in five years. Check out my website http://www.ahermitt.com for murals and hand painted furniture for your kids.

The ultimate in failure to spell check:

School officials apologized after an X-rated font was used on a third-grade spelling packet handed out to parents. The font showed male and female stick figures in provocative poses to form the letters of the alphabet. Perhaps her last job was as a sex-ed teacher?

From Homeschool in a box to University in a box

On today, Sept 18, 2006, Global Academy Online (The Academy), a partner to colleges and universities in providing online private-label curriculum and instruction, announced the release of two 'New University in a Box' programs. Homeschoolers have been doing it for years. It has proven to be successful... why not raise the bar? http://www.expertclick.com/NewsReleaseWire/default.cfm?Action=ReleaseDetail&ID=13871

Homeschool Lesson Plan: Teaching hygiene and skin care

Image
You can use these ideas to teach personal hygiene and skin care to your homeschooled kids. This lesson would be geared toward upper elementary and middle schooled kids who need to develop a daily routine, while staying positive and eliminating stress over Acne. With this lesson, you can prove they do not have to let acne control their life. The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin disease has an excellent article on how to control Acne . It defines Acne, (a disorder resulting from the action of hormones and other substances on the skin's oil glands (sebaceous glands) and hair follicles) the cause and treatments as well. This source is an excellent basis for your lesson plan. You can find it at niams.nih.gov. Read the following topics: What is Acne? How does acne develop? What Causes Acne? Who gets Acne? How is Acne treated? Treatment for Blackheads, Whiteheads, and Mild Inflammatory Acne? Treatment for severe Nodular or Cystic Acne? As you read each chapter:...

I might be switching curriculum

Time4learning, the wonderful, wonderful curriculum that we have used for the bulk of our homeschool so far, may longer be a good fit for my kids. At aged 10 and 12, they are more annoyed than amused by the animation. When they were younger, they loved it. They thought they were getting away with murder, with being able to laugh and learn at the same time. But I guess they are growing up. I found a program on CD that looks good. It is inexpensive too. I will tell you about it after we test it.

WHO READS MY HOMESCHOOL BLOGS?

As far as I know, my homeschool blog may be read by thousands, or they could be read by one or two. They may not be read at all. COMMENTS from readers would help a bit, but I can't just leave my comments open to anyone because started getting a whole bunch of weird spam comments around the first of the year. I spent the last hour trying to find out what my google ranking was and how to raise it. All I found out is that i can't go that route... to force the increase of my rank. Its just too C-D-backslash (too close to programming). My mind just does not go there. Dealing with stuff like search engine optimization adding codes for reciprical links and the like... I just can't worry about all that. So I will just keep blogging, and hoping that you my readers will comment, I do have readers right?... and refer back to me every once in a while. Unlike myself USWeb seems to have the hang of search engine optimization. See what they have to say about search engine opti...

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

I just got my homeschool-free-stuff newslater and it had some food for thought on the food your homeschoolers should eat during the day. Basically, it says feed them no more than 1000 calories at a time, but let them eat often. It sounds like it makes sense. They basically say, eat less food, more often.

The best way to learn geography

Image
The best way to learn geography is to experience it in person. The website allows you to Make a Map Mashups to use during travel. Map mashups were created to be powerful dynamic map mashups for Convention and Vistors Bureau (CVB), chamber of commerce, travel, tourism, hospitality, hotel, vacation rentals. But there is no reason that we can't use them too.

Homeschool facts:

2% of school aged children are homeschooled. 1 million/51 million 1/2 of all homeschoolers are in grades K-5, the other half are in middle and high school Most homeschooling households are made up of 2 parent families with only 1 parent working. http://www.census.gov

You can make money while homeschooling!

Image
I won't claim you will make a fortune, but if you blog about homeschooling, or whatever, you will make enough to cover all of your homeschooling expenses! This week I made enough to cover our field trip costs... And museum entry is not cheap! So if you want to make money while blogging about your homeschoolinng adventure, check out this great site called PayPerPost and tell them dreahwrites@gmail.com sent you!

Keeping a homeschool schedule

I just woke the kids up... It is 8:30. I didn't want to... they were sleeping so peacefully, but I did. If we are going to have any semblance of a schedule, they have got to get moving. Some think homeschooling means sleeping in and studying all night, but with my kids, it is best to get the readin, writin', and 'rithmatic out of the way before noon.

Tips for the first six weeks of school

Ok, I had some fun this morning mocking the State of Illinois kindergarten guidelines, but these guidelines are the real thing. Whether your kids are homeschooled or go to traditional schools, these tips for the first six weeks of school will help you determine if your child needs extra help to adjust, or if you are on the right track. I found the general tips quite helpful too such as " instill excellence as your family standard, encourage a strong work ethic; and set high but realistic standards" and "make sure you understand your child's academic streamed and weaknesses". I highly recommend you print this page and post it in a visible place. And if you live in the Rochester NY area go visit Cynthia Tucker, the author of this article at the Oxford Learning center in Fairport NY. She really knows her stuff.

I wish they had PE like this when I was in school

Just because I homeschool doesn't mean I hate everthing about school... but I certainly hated PE or Gym as we called it. I only remember 1 pleasurable year in highschool when the girls gym flooded and the we had gym with the boys. They had a weight set... yay! I would challenge the boys to bench press contest. I won when we did lifts with legs! Recently, But Phil Lawler , head of the Physical Education Department at Madison Junior High in Naperville, Illinois, has seen firsthand how high-tech tools can help to bring a healthier, more balanced approach to physical education. I think this is a great idea. read more here: http://www.edutopia.org/php/article.php?id=Art_838 I think if I had created a healthier view towards PE in school, I wouldn't have such an aversion to working out as an adult. Perhaps I would be in better shape... NO? PS. My kids love our at home gym too.

Want to teach your kids to budget money?

Put them in charge of your vacation plans! We let the children take charge when it comes to travel plans. Well, I don't know if I can really say let... They just take charge! We tell them how much money we plan to spend, and let them budget food, travel, recreation, etc. We have learned to double check plans before leaving. Last year we requested our son make skiing plans with a dog friendly hotel rooms. The problem was he didn't want to go skiing. So he made plans for hiking and told us nothing. We were so used to him making excellent plans that we just followed along. So there we were with tons of ski equipment and very little snow. It was a good thing a Walmart was nearby so we could get hiking boots! We still let him make our plans though... he even knows how to get the best deals on Discount Vacation Packages . We recently found a new website to help the kids with our travel plans. It is Fairfield Getaways. Fairfield Getaways offers weekend getaways, family vaca...

Illinois knows what your kindergarten should know

After four long years, the State of Illinois finally figured out what kindergarten should know. I figured it out in five minutes myself by reading a book called "What your kindergarten Should Know", by E.D. Hirsh. It's a good book. I recommend it! Meanwhile, here are Illinois' recommendations and what they mean to me (in parenthesis) Language arts: Read one syllable and high frequency words (memorize small words) Explain past events with accurate detail (learn to tattle) Math: Estimate numbers of objects in as set (forget counting, just guess) Represent data using concrete objects, pictures and graphs (whuh?) Science: Understand the purpose of recyling (tree-hugging 101) describe the effects of forces of nature (make them afraid of storms) Social Science: Participate in voting as a way of making choices (learn to have your choices and decisions overridden by the group) Understand that each of us belongs to a family and recognize that families vary (read the mandatory...

Practice, Practice, Practice

Image
Many homeschoolers start to get nervous when the time comes to take the SAT. You don't have to fret however since this SAT test preperation website called Sat prep Plan has come online. The site contains practice problems, flash cards, books, videos, and other materials. This site designed for the NEW SAT course as well. What I like most about the site is that it evaluates your score after you take the practice test. Your comprehensive test report will give you a study plan based on your strenghts and weaknesses. Too cool! If you should feel compelled to try out this website, please come back and let me know what you think. My kids aren't anywhere near ready for the SAT yet, but when they are, I want to pick the best program for them. Oh, by the way, as far as I can tell, this site is free... or at least the practice test and report are.

Homeschooling vs DFACS

unfortunately the agency set up to protect children from abuse is known in the homeschooling community (where families education thier children at home for similar reasons) as thier worst enemy. This is neither the fault of homeschoolers or DFACS, but instead the fault of people determined to abuse and harrass homeschoolers. Read this latest account from HSLDA .

Teaching Homeschool Economics Skills

Image
Most homeschoolers don't worry about home economics courses. After all, the children learn how to cook, and shop and take care of the home in the course of everyday living, especially when they are in the home more than public school kids. I even have an apron that says "home Ec classes in session". My daughter however has wanted to learn how to knit and I have had trouble finding someone to teach her. A math, or science teacher is easy enough to find, but a knitting teacher... that can be difficult. Until now. With American Knitter Learn to Knit DVD Lessons you can learn how to knit, and teach your homeschooled child how to knit too. How cool is that? Though this is not knitting in the traditional sense because it uses a loom and hook, it still meakes a mean hat and scarf set!

A Homeschool Business Card

I purchased business cards today from Vista Print . I made them double sided with my information on one side and my daughters information on the other. That got me thinking... It would be really cool if homeschool families carried business cards. As homeschoolers we meet so many people. It may be months and months before we see someone we genuinely liked again. We should create homeschool business cards for our family so that we can call that cool homeschool family for a get together instead of waiting to bump into them again at the next field trip. For example, if I were going to make a business card for my family. The front side would say "The Hermitt Family" with our phone home number under it. On the other side, one persons name would be in each corner with cell phone numbers (for those who have cell phones) If each family member carried a handful of cards with their name circled or highlighted, that would help their friends contact them next time they want to ge...

The Carnival of homeschooling is an interesting thing

If you want to go for an amusing ride, read carnival of homeschooling number 37 , by Dana of Principled Discovery. You will find a post there from me!

Why I am tempted to start my own homeschooling curriculum program

One thing that really bothers me about homeschooling is that curriculum providers and programs who homeschoolers come to depend on can change gears at any times. They are usually small companies or companies run by homeschool families. Anything can change. Suddenly what worked for you may not work anymore. It can be quite distressing. Here's one example: http://www.estripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=39965

Homeschool TV

The kids and I love watching educational shows. I borrow documentaries from the library and we watch animal planet and history channel whenever we can. It teaches so much. I have also looked into several TV and movie download websites but have not found one with enough of a variety... until now. I really like this new site for Movie Downloads I most especially like the price. Instead of a monthly membership fee, the site requires only a yearly fee for unlimited movie downloads. You can do a lifetime membership if you wish as well. In addition to movie downloads, you can also get music and TV shows. How cool is that?

It's time for schools to throw in the towel and start over.

"Nearly a fourth of K-12 students won't attend their neighborhood public schools this fall, choosing instead from an array of public and private options, including magnet, charter, private and home schooling. But for many, especially for inner-city children, these options remain far too scarce. The momentum to innovate must accelerate." according to Goldwater Institute . Parents are catching on... either shools will improve, or cease to exist. I've always wanted to live in a large commerical building... maybe the school building around the corner will go up for sale soon.

On homeschooling and blogging

Image
I starting homeschooling around the same time I started blogging. I thought it could be a good passive way to earn a few dollars while doing what I do.... homeschooling, that is. I've earned a dollar here or there. I have traded homeschool curriculum for blog posts, but until now I haven't made anything to write home about. Until now. I really digg this current opportunity I have to make money blogging .

socialization, schmocialization

If I had a dollar... I don't quite understand the misconception that many people think homeschoolers are social inepts unable to say hello to strangers, or have a decent conversation just because they aren't taught to behave by thier peers. That's what socialization means, you know? Socialization: The process whereby individuals learn the appropriate behavior that allows them to be functioning members of a particular group, such as a family, work, or social group. McGraw Hill ~Online Learning Center. When will they understand that being "raised" by peers is a dangerous thing. Society wonders what has happened to society, why each generation of children is worst that the one before... Why since the 1950's or 60's the morality of America had denigrated. I say it is because that is when Parents checked out and children's upbringing has been left primarily to that of the community... i.e. their peers. This socialization does not help children learn t...

It is field trip Friday!

We love field trip Fridays! The children work extra hard during the week to make sure they have time to do something educational and fun. I don't get to go this week though. I am going on a ladies retreat. I normally try to line up field trip Friday with the lessons they are learning in their Monday Classes. They are still on 1900 to 1910 right now... But today they want to go bowling. What can you learn bowling? I ask. The art of aerodynamics! My ten year old says: I want an essay when I get back!

I promise to only blog about homeschooling!

Image
You may have noticed that my blog has picked up quite a bit. It's not because I don't have enough work to do homeschooling, and writing, and painting, but it is because of this awesome site I found called payperpost.com that allows you to put ads on blogs for money! Don't worry though, this will remain a blog completely dedicated to homeschooling. If a service or product does not directly benefit homeschoolers, I promise not to put it in this blog. I couldn't if I wanted to anyway. Payperpost.com the site that pays me to put ads on blogs is watching. They see everything I write and everything I do. THEY OWN ME NOW. One false move... one out of place post... and they'll take my first born. Really. I couldn't even get them to trade for the second child. Drats!

I love reading the Carnival of Homeschooling!

I love reading the Carnival of Homeschooling. It allows me to peek into the lives of other homeschool moms like me. It gives me new ideas and reminds me I am sane. I think I may submit a post next week, or even volunteer to write one soon. The latest Carnival of Homeschooling is here

How I keep them reading

Image
I like to keep lost of magazines around our house. I put them in the kids rooms, in the kitchen, living room, car, everywhere. Every so often, re-arrange them and move them around to make sure they all get read. I purchase educational magazines like Scientific American Mind, Childrens Digest, National Geographic, and Popular science. I find the best prices online (I never pay full price) from sites like MagazinePriceSearch.com

Oh, the things I do to teach history

For the past few years I have been paying for a Fine arts/History program to teach the kids history through the arts... It is really good, but at they get older, they need a more in depth approach. I think I hit the mark. Right now, My kids are in the basement watching a National Geographic movie on the Titanic. It is one of events recently covered in class. How's that for in depth?

Homeschoolers need this drivers Ed Alternative

Image
I fear the day when it is time to teach my homeschooled kids to drive. I went to highschool in a suburb outside of NY where drivers ed was not given... most teens took public transportation. But where we live now, public transportation consists of buses to and from the city in the morning and evening. My mother refused to teach me how to drive. She thought I was too unpredictable and feared I would play a joke on her. (My older brother had scared her to death by driving to the edge of the river and stopping). Frankly, I am not too crazy about teaching my kids to drive either. Fortunately, I may not have to teach them myslef at all. They can learn to drive using Drivers Ed Direct. This is a great and safe way to teach your kids to drive! Kids can learn to drive using an online tool. I hope the full service makes it to GA soon! According to Drivers Ed Direct (www.driverseddirect.com), they are "revolutionizing the drivers education industry by replacing old cars, dimly lit st...

Why I would never go on Wife Swap

My husband keeps looking at me while wife swap is on and saying... You should do that! Are you crazy! I exclaim. Anyone who makes my kids or husband cry would have to go down! And if I were in a house where I thought the people were crazy... I would probably not be nice about it. Besides, I believe that wifeswap stacks the shelf against homeschoolers. What is your homeschool Uniform

Image
Homeschool moms are often depicted of wearing long tunic type dresses with a shirt underneath. Now while I have a couple of long tunic dresses in my closet, it is hardly my homeschool uniform. Divas like me do not wear the same thing everyday. If I had to admit to having a homeschool uniform, I would have to confess to wearing Scrubs everyday, at least while I am in the house. What is your homeschool uniform?

Keeping it fun

This year we have decided to make field trips a major part of our homeschooling program. We have always wanted too, but time seemed scarce. However, some unexpected changes and cancellations made it possible.. I guess it was ordained!

We are adding spelling to our curriculum

The online learning program has spelling included in language arts, but tests have shown that we need more spelling work. So I am using these sites found here http://eslus.com/LESSONS/SPELL/SPELL.HTM http://www.primarygames.com/see-n-spell/see-n-spell.htm http://www.quia.com/jw/48164.html http://www.harcourtschool.com/menus/auto/18/54.html http://www.manythings.org/cts/ to help me teach and test the children on spelling. get more free homeschool info at http://www.freehomeed.com/
