Homeschool Curriculum review: Educator.com

I was blessed to discover this new online curriculum that teaches via video web instruction from some of the brightest minds in the country. For anyone with students looking for AP instruction, you really need to check this out.

Students will be able to learn all maths, including Calculus AB, and Calculus BC. They will also learn chemistry and other science topics.

Great Deals on School & Homeschool Curriculum

I wish my kids were small again

Not because I have a hankering for a baby around, but because I just stumbled onto some books that would be great for teaching early math in a more relaxed way... too bad they are already into Algebra and Geometry...

Anyway, here is a post that you may find helpful if you are teaching little ones math... I am most intrigued by the Rooke Reader books.

All Children Should Be Homeschooled

While I don't believe that every parent should pull their children out of public and private school and teach them solely at home, I do believe that every parent should be involved in their children's education to the point where they teach their children at home to a certain degree. This is what I mean by all children should be homeschooled.

In other words, if your child is having trouble learning to read, take it upon yourself to teach them at home. If your child is struggling in math. Help them. if your child has educational interests that are not available in school, make it available at home.

But how would you do it you ask? I realize that many parents of children in public school just don't know where to start when it comes to facilitating the education of children at home. The truth is that many homeschooling parents start in the same place. At some point we get over the fear and find a homeschool curriculum that will help to facilitate our desire to help our kids.

In fact, I began teaching my kids at home full time one year after I taught my daughter to read during the summer after her Kindergarten year since she got promoted to the first grade unable to read. I used an online reading curriculum to get the job done. So when I started homeschooling it made good sense for me to teach her and her brother using the online curriculum Time4learning.

Homeschool Telemarketers for Word Smart

I have been getting telemarketing calls for the last couple of days from a company called The learning Center. The number they called me from is 2695372097. They use one of those automated dialing systems so that means that they call me, and spend ficve minutes saying "Hello.... Hello... Hello" before finally hanging up.

They called me again today and this time I got a human after the third Hello. I got a man with a very authorative voice who asked if I was still homeschooling and asked if I was using CD Roms or computers. I very pointedly said NO. He ignored my answer and went on to inform me of a program they are offering on a 30 day trial called Word Smart. It is supposed to help k-12 students improve reading and comprehension. I attempted to protest that I did not want it and the guy rudely cut me off and hung up.

I don't know which part of that call was most audacious.

The good news is that you can call the number back and have them take you off the mailing list.... I think... we all know how that works right?
